Julia Spinolo DNP, APC, APRN, FNP-BC, NCC
Hello! I’m so glad you’re here. I am Julia, and I am an Associate Professional Counselor (APC010557) and EMDR Certified Therapist™ specializing supporting women through trauma (PTSD and C-PTSD), grief, anxiety, and major life changes. I also work with assisting adults who have experienced Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN) and narcissistic abuse/relationships. Additionally, I am deeply committed to helping healthcare providers, educators, and first responders in their pursuit of well-being.
I have over three decades of healthcare experience, including oncology, psychiatry, internal medicine, medical-surgical, and leadership roles. Previously, I served as a clinical professor for undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. This extensive background provides my therapeutic practice with a holistic perspective, emphasizing the crucial connection between mind, body, and spirit. I integrate evidence-based therapies with supportive modalities, enabling clients to achieve profound healing by addressing the root causes of their distress. Specifically, I employ EMDR to empower clients to process trauma and transform negative thought and behavior patterns.
My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia State University (1997), followed by a Master of Science in Nursing and ANCC board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Kennesaw State University (2001), and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the Medical College of Georgia (2007). Throughout my clinical and academic careers, I have focused on primary care and mental health and this has provided me with a rich understanding of the healthcare landscape. I received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University.
I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where my clients feel secure, understood, and accepted. While working with me, you will be encouraged to explore your authentic self as you pursue healing and personal growth. I am dedicated to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive care to women from all backgrounds. I look forward to walking with you on your healing journey while serving as a dedicated advocate for your well-being.
I work under the Direction of Mazi Robinson, MS, LPC, CPCS, NCC (LPC 006005, CPCS 1433) and Supervision of Amy Robbins, LPC, CPCS, ACS.
As an Atlanta native, I cherish time spent with my husband and feline babies. When I’m not working, I enjoy a variety of hobbies, including swimming laps at the YMCA, exploring nature, sewing, knitting, cooking, reading, and connecting with my family and friends.
