Sarah Collins, MS, MDiv, LPC, NCC
Hello! Welcome! I am Sarah, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC012015) specializing in working with women on identity formation and development, building healthy relationships with others and self, life stage transitions, spiritual concerns, and grief and loss. My clinical interests also include codependence recovery, navigating friendships in adulthood, and women in ministry (clergywomen, chaplains, spiritual directors, seminarians, etc.).
The relationship with the self supports all other relationships in our lives. My work with clients centers around exploring and strengthening the foundational relationship with the self, to include: identity formation and personal growth, building self-trust, and the integration of faith/spirituality as desired. I support my clients in bringing their lives into greater alignment with their personal values, so that they may feel more at home within themselves and more empowered to express themselves authentically. I listen for the wisdom in my clients’ experiences and empower them as active participants in their growth process. I assist clients with values clarification, identifying and expressing emotions, establishing and maintaining boundaries, exploring purpose and meaning, self esteem/self worth, living and communicating authentically, codependence recovery, and developing personal agency. I am passionate about Cultivate Counseling’s mission to help women cultivate joy, courage, and freedom as they pursue emotional, mental, and spiritual health.
My personal and professional identity have been shaped by my dual training in mental/emotional health and spiritual health. I earned an M.Div. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University and previously worked as a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) in the fields of palliative care, hospice, and mental health. Through my work in these diverse contexts, I developed a passionate interest in the relationship between spiritual health and mental/emotional health. While continuing my work in chaplaincy, I studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling and graduated with an M.S. from Mercer University. I gained experience in acute mental health treatment, substance abuse recovery, and group counseling prior to transitioning into private practice at Cultivate Counseling.
As an Atlanta native, I enjoy reading, exploring the North Georgia mountains with my husband, and going on walks with my rescue dog.
